Writers block is at its peak now, I am writing but nothing seems good, nothing is satisfying me. There are so many unfinished pieces that I am loosing patience. Anyway, I was told by someone to write about ‘not being able to write’ so here is an attempt.
As always your comments are more than welcome.
Happy reading!
HEARTBREAK
Why wasn’t it flowing?
Like that enthralling river
Running down the mountain, dodging the rocks,
Like that one drop of tear which was stuck in the eye for so long
That even after it dropped, the pain it melted seemed less torturous,
Like the period blood which
oozed out and endorsed my virginity,
Like the sweat which swirled down the neck emancipating the exhaustion from the body.
Why was my ink so stubborn to release itself?
I changed a hundred pens but the blue ink remained rigid,
Strong in its position, not even willing to move a centilitre.
“Hey! Why don’t you liberate yourself?” I asked the ink.
“Why don’t you let yourself out?” She shot back.
Stunned by her answer, silence enclosed me for a moment.
“I chose my words to do that.” I said embarrassingly.
“Oh really? But your words are hollow, they lack profoundness.” She replied.
Who would know my words better than her;
Understand the depth of them more than her?
Perhaps, she was telling the truth.
The blue liquid shattered me,
But along with me,
She spilled herself out on my hands.
The sense of dissatisfaction along with the unanswered questions that is being felt by a writer including me is beautifully described by you in the form of this gem like poem… I think the sense of dissatisfaction is the root which enables to write better and better. The enthusiasm which makes to think that this literary piece is not what I desired and then you come up with a better new piece in your next post. Its all about learning and improving the way one writes and I think this kind of dilemma is good where you are never satisfied with your own work and that too results in a better work from the previous one. This should be taken in a positive manner… ๐ This will keep you writing and writing and you can reach excellence and the day when you are satisfied with your own writing, you may probably stop writing… ๐
A masterpiece creation from your side… ๐

Thank you for these lovely words. I am flattered.
I know the previous piece was not that nice. ๐

Hmmm… That’s why you came out with this brilliant creation and the upcoming one will be more better than this(according to you…) ๐
Every literary piece has something in it. It’s better not to compare… ๐

Ashish has said it well, my Dear Srishti! You HAVE written this piece quite well, and my Congratulations to You.
We are Our Own Worst Critics, and that is Not a bad thing. This prevents Us from getting satisfied with Mediocrity, as Ashish has said.
YET, I would suggest that You start appreciating Yourself and Your work more.
There are people who write, when they get a contract, just filling in pages. But people like You, Ashish and me write, We do it because something pushes Us to do so!
And that something may be God, (depending on the circumstances), the Situation, a Need, or things like that. We have to Respect the Force that is Impelling Us too!
Love and Regards. ๐

You’ve done it!!
Writer’s block is myth. Our mind would always be in some state-excited verbose or too occupied to chose words. In both states, it would give unique flavor.

Hehe, thank you for reading and appreciating. But writers block whatever you say it is, is torturous.

I am not a writer and do not intend to start as I would be blocked at page one! If you keep adding and changing ingredients to the evening meal you are cooking, no one is going to get to eat, and what they get may not be edible! You must put a period at the end of it, and move on. Try something different–write something shorter and perhaps a bit brighter–a sonnet or even a Haiku. Putting a great thought in a few words is challenging. Doing something because you think you have to post is a pressure that is detrimental to creativity. We followers will be here regardless

I will definitely give your words a thought. I require some sort of pressure to work actually. ๐ But all the same, I will try something different as you said.

It’s always difficult to express what one feels like in the form of writing….at least I face it quite often….especially if I have to limit my words. But I think you have written this piece so beautifully. Great work Srishti
